Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 Pale

Once trapped behind his bed, Mark Seabald’s copy of Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 was found today paler than anyone remembered it.

“I’d say it’s a sun stain, like an effect from exposure,” said Seabald, confused and distraught about the damage done to his box cover. “But I can’t remember the last time we brought this thing out for a party. I imagine it’s just been sitting in the dark the last five years.”

Seabald explained how he came upon the box: “I was culling my video game collection, thinking I’d sell some stuff on E-bay, but I don’t know how much like I’ll have. These baseball games are in really crappy condition. High Heat looks awful and this copy of MLB Slugfest: Loaded Starring Sammy Sosa is practically translucent; I don’t think anyone’s interested in old baseball games. Even I wish I could act like these just didn’t happen.”

However, Seabald retained a pinch of his original optimism: “You know, it’s like the only game that even sort of holds up is Ken Griffey Presents Major League Baseball. And it needs a pinch runner.”
