While most gamers are all too familiar with the Super Mario Bros., few remember the enigmatic Fantastic Steve Cousins. Accompanied by his cousin, Ralph, Fantastic Steve led players on a magical journey through the Sausage Fiefdom. When the Mario Bros. soared to fame a few years later, Fantastic Steve sued the plumber for stealing his act. Unfortunately, Fantastic Steve was found dead before the trial began, leading to further speculation on Mario’s involvement with La Cosa Nostra.

11 Things You Might Notice If You Take a Closer Look at the Characters in Street Fighter’s HD Remix

We’re living in an age of HD, and perhaps the biggest HD upgrade of the last month has been Street Fighter II Turbo’s rebirth as Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. The response to the completely redrawn sprites has been almost entirely positive – it’s Street Fighter II Turbo, with a new, beautiful coat of paint, and what’s not to like about that?

Well, there are a few things. Just like you now have to see Al Roker’s pores (yechhh), there are some details that you may not have noticed before about the Street Fighter II characters that are more than a little… disturbing. Let me run through what you might spot if you take a closer look at the Street Fighter roster:

1. ZANGIEF: Hair coming from his boots isn’t growing from his legs. Speculate, if you wish.

2. RYU: Bizarrely, was born without a tongue.

3. M. BISON: Can see, briefly, his driver’s license: the “M” stands for “Mabel”.

4. BLANKA: Is still wearing an ankle bracelet from the Dharma Initiative that created him.

5. CHUN-LI: While her tree-trunk thighs are real, a careful look proves that she’s gotten calf implants.

6. CAMMY: Hard-to-miss bulge in her bathing suit parts.

7. T. HAWK: In HD, it’s even more racist!

8. GUILE: Shirt creeps up a little on his back during some moves, revealing his “tramp stamp“.

9. DHALSIM: Victory dance set precisely to the beat of “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)“.

10. E. HONDA: Two words: Wardrobe malfunction. Who decided it would be a good idea for him to fight in a towel?

11. KEN: In HD, it becomes clear that he’s the exact same fucking character as Ryu.
